Here Kitty, Kitty – The Comeback of Kitten Heels

My heart literally skipped a beat when I saw these blue mules with a large velvet bow freshly laid out on the top shelf at ZARA. I had no idea how I was going to style them but the fact that these were the last pair in my size screamed at me. I’m still yet to wear them out but I get so excited every time I glance at them. I love the pale blue colour of the mules with the exaggerated velvet bow. It’s such a beautiful and adorable combo. I also love how these mules have two different personalities. On the front, you have a pointed heels to add some seriousness to the outfit worn with these and on the back, its all bare like yaaaaay we are going let our hair down today. I can totally see me going to the convenience store for a bottle of milk and some bread in these. They’re so easy to slip on. The kitten heels has made a comeback all thanks to the Maria Grazia Chiuri’s DIOR J’ADIOR SS17 Debut on runway which has send other brands into a frenzy and now each of them seems to be coming up with their own rendition.

I personally am not a fan of Dior’s version. I know, what a shocker! I love the concept and love the slingback band but thats about it. I don’t like the slight wedge in the heel. I’m not really sure why this has sparked a frenzy and made a comeback. I mean the kitten heel have been around for years and I regularly wear the last pair I bought two years ago . It’s effortlessly chic and gives you the right lift and comfort you need and the desire from wearing high heels. It can still elongate your legs depending on the style of the shoes you pick. I guess you won’t have a hard time picking the right one as most kitten heels styles are usually a pointed heel which is great. Opting for a kitten heel can be smart and casual and its great for running around town, in the office and still look stylish as ever as they are a hybrid of wearing pumps and trainers at the same time and you won’t need to carry your flats with you. I feel it’s a great way to practice wearing and walking in heels if you can’t handle wearing them everyday but you love the look of it.

Kitten heels never went out of the style for me and they will always be in my wardrobe.  Below are some of my favourite pairs from the high street.
