Paris is always a good idea- Audrey Hepburn
I took off to Paris for the day last week because according to Audrey Hepburn, Paris is always a good idea. This is the second time Paris has proven that phrase doesn’t apply to me. It rained all day ( it rained the entire weekend I spent there last time too ], and to be honest, it’s not my favourite city and yet I couldn’t say no to the idea of spending an entire day walking around and soaking in some French culture. Well, that was the plan anyways. Basically, I just don’t get the hype and the fuss some [ fashion ] bloggers seem to rave about or why they love it so much. Let me not be a negative Nancy and save this rant for my next travel post. I’m sure you are here for the details on the outfit so let’s get cracking…..
I was thinking of my feet and how and much walking I was going to be doing throughout the day when I first thought of what am I going to wear. This meant I had to build my outfit around the shoes. Something I don’t usually do when it comes to creating an outfit. These old lace up Brogues are not my favourite in my collection but they are practical, comfortable and they go well with this preppy outfit don’t you think? I also wanted to wear this dress again so I had to find new ways to wear so I to threw on this 3 tiered skirt I picked up from Zara in the sales for the just £8.00. Bargain!!
I didn’t want to cover up my outfit with a coat because well, it was the first day of Paris Fashion Week S/S17 and I wanted to look the part even though I had a complete different agenda to the rest of the fashion gang and was going in the opposite direction. I needed to keep warm somehow without wearing any outerwear on show so I wore this Bib with embellished collar just for decoration and err, some warmth. It really wasn’t keeping me that warm but I like how it transformed the dress and gave it a whole new look. Success. I love this dress as a top and I’m looking forward to the many ways and excuses to wear it on repeat. Don’t you just love when nature agrees with your outfit? I love how the wind came to play its part and volumized the skirt to bring some je ne sais quoi to the look. It’s just ooh La La just as the Parisians would say. Do Parisian women really say that?
What I’m Wearing:
Embellished Collar Bib [ ASOS sold out ]
Tiered Shimmery Skirt [ Zara sold out | similar ]
Brogues [ ZARA, old ]
Bag [ ZARA, old ]
What do you make of this outfit?
Happy Monday 🙂
Verse of The Day:-
